Adventure Aid is currently being reviewed by our board.

A brief history

Adventure Aid was started by Jon Levy and Janie Thomas with a mission to bring together people who have skills, knowledge and energy with sustainable community programs and projects and offer them a true ecotourism, “green tourism”, experience in the surrounding area.

Jon, and his wife, Janie, have two passions in their lives: traveling to exotic places and helping people to improve their lives and environment.

On their travels they found that even a small amount of assistance or training in a community could have a large impact.  Adventure Aid was created to fulfill the goals of living in community, giving assistance and traveling to foreign land. You can read a blog about the last project in the Siha District, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania.

Much has changed over the last few years and yet the human desire to live in community and give assistance to one another has not.

Today, Adventure Aid is currently being managed by our President & Board Chair Ben Moseley.

The organization is restructuring to adopt a more local mission and purpose to strengthen community and provide aid to the Eugene/Springfield residents here in Oregon.
